As I am sitting here, I was thinking about adding to the blog I have for the dogs, but I couldn't think of anything specific to write. I have stories, but nothing that jumps to the front of my mind.
As I was thinking this, Bailey walks up to the laundry basket I have near the washing machine, sits down and takes a sock out. I shriek, "Are you kidding me?", he drops the sock, looks at me, then grabs another and walks off with it!!!
He misbehaves when he doesn't get his way, right before this I was eating a bowl of broccoli, sharing it with him, but not fast enough as he was whining at me for more. Keep in mind, this was part of my lunch, but I always share with him, too. It's a veggie and it's good for him, why not?? Because we finished and I told him we're all done, his punishment for being done was to run off with socks.
I have Molly over here, just sitting on the couch, minding her own business, and being cute.
Vizsla's are not for everyone!!

Our nightly routine for the dogs.
I'm going to try to be less concerned about content and just start writing often about my dogs.
This is for me, so if anyone else reads it, I hope you find some enjoyment from it.
Lately, Bailey has been sleeping on the couch at night. I walk them both, then Bailey jumps up on the couch and I wrap him in a blanket. Molly, sits patiently as I do my nightly routine of turning off lights, Scentsy warmers, and a quick pick up (just in case Bailey jumps down). Weirdly enough, my dogs stay put all night and only move if they really need to be walked. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I will go check on Bailey and re-cover him with a blanket (he usually kicks it off at some point).
Back to Molly, she waits for me to finish up, and then she follows me into our bedroom. I have a dog bed right next to my side of the bed and she sleeps on that. I cover her with one of our very soft blankets, tell her "I love you" and she is off to sleep.
Our dogs used to join us on our bed every night, but Molly is a bit of a bed hog. She is 20 pounds less than Bailey and takes up more space than the rest of us. She is always moving around and Bailey started to sleep on the couch because of it. Now she has her own tempurpedic dog bed, that is big enough to allow her to lay out the way she wants to.
In the morning, I roll over and see Molly's beautiful eyes staring at me, I call her up and she joins me in bed for a morning snuggle. Which means to her, I must give her a belly rub, as she rolls around on her back. Then I call Bailey to the bedroom, after a few shouts of his name, he sluggishly joins us for morning snuggles and rubs. After a few minutes, it's time to get the day started with a walk outside for the dogs.

Our second bedroom..
Our second bedroom was recently cleaned/organized so we have much more space in there now. I now leave the door open more, so the dogs have more room to run around/explore. Lately, Bailey has just been loving being in there. I will randomly find him laying on the floor, the bed, looking out the window, or doing whatever dogs do. I think he thinks that is his room now. Hmmmm. He has another thing coming.
I just love finding him just laying on the floor, happy as can be in his new room. I almost want to give him a little space (other than his giant dog bed in there) but there is nothing more to give him.

Ohhhh Bailey! And Molly head butting me :(
When Bailey (and Molly) ask for a walk, they know to sit on the carpet near the front door, and we will leash them up. They're typically patient, wait for the command to move, and for us to open the door to go out. Lately, Bailey has been mixing it up, and what I thought was a one time thing, he has done about once a day. Instead of giving the door room to open, he instead runs to the door, forgets it isn't open, fails to stop, slides on the tile, and hits the door (not hard). I laughed the first time, but then a few days later, he did it again, and I of course laughed again. This doggy is so silly!!!
Then today, I am giving molly hugs and pets, then the next thing you know, she shoots straight up into my jaw! This has to be one of the worst hits to my face, ever. My jaw was swollen, it is still sore hours later, and I am can feel the dull ache in my chin. Boo hoo.

Posting on FB and not my blog
I realized that I was posting everything about my dogs on my FB page, and not posting them on my blog. I don't need to explain what I am posting, since this is for me, I am going to start posting more random blog entries and pictures.
"Things I never thought I would say, "Molly, stop licking the couch"."
She was licking a giant wet spot on the right side of my couch (which she always does), so this time I told her to get down, and go on her doggy bed. I think I will do that from now on, because I am tired of finding the wet surprise when I sit on the couch.
Not five minutes later, did I have to say to Bailey, "Bailey, stop licking the humidifier".
::sigh::
Everything gets licked on when you have dogs. I guess I will take that over them peeing on everything, right?

Treats
I haven't really worked on this blog, but I hope to post here more often.
I wanted to blog tonight because my dogs were cracking me up tonight, and I would like to remember this in the future.
Tonight, I cleaned out Bailey's ears and then afterwards I reward his 'bravery' with treats. Of course, I am going to include Molly in on the treats (her ears get cleaned when I have Travis help me, she screams when her ears get cleaned) and decided to toss them a treat. I tossed Bailey one, then Molly, who just sits there, opens her mouth, and does't even try to catch the treat. The treat ended up hitting the side of her face, then it just slid down her right arm and onto the kitchen floor. If that doesn't make you giggle enough, the look on her face had me cracking up! She looked disgusted from the moment the treat hit her face, to the moment it hit the floor and the vacuum, aka Bailey, gobbled it all down.
I thought it was funny, and as any good doggy parent, I tossed more treats their way just to see Molly mess up. No worries, I made sure she did get to eat a fair share of doggy treats.
Later this evening, I was on the couch and as always, I had to call Bailey to get out of the bedroom. "Bailey COME" after the third time, Bailey comes running out of the bedroom, rounds the kitchen, then jumps onto couch and plops down. He then looks at me and if he could speak, I swear he would've said "What? I have been here the whole time."
Gosh. I love these dogs.
And on that note, someone wants a walk again.
I think I deserve a medal. We have lived in an apartment with a dog for over 5 years!! I have to walk them multiple times in a day and cannot just open up a backyard to let them out.

Precious Moments
Bailey is our 4-year-old Vizsla, who specializes in being a
pain in the butt. However, there are many times when he is just a sweet little
boy. This morning, I was sitting in my chair, doing something on my computer
and I noticed Bailey was walking over to me. He sits down in front of me, looks
at the computer, looks at me, and let’s out this little cry of sorts. I put the
computer down, invite him up in the chair and he jumps right on up. He then
laid right into me, putting his head on my shoulder and arms on either side of
me. This is a doggy hug, I don’t care how anyone else views it or how technical
you want to get; he was hugging me. He wanted love, he wanted to be close and I
loved every moment of it. If he was still a tiny puppy, I might have told him
to stay in my lap, but he is anything but tiny now.
As of now, both of my doggies are lying on the couch, asleep
and trying to keep warm. Even though they slept for 9 hours on my bed, they
always go right back to sleep after a morning walks.
If you have the time, please read this and consider
donating. I am part of a Vizsla group, it is more of a community of us Vizsla
lovers and I can see the love this woman has for her little girls. You do not
have to give a lot, but right now anything will help to cover for the medical
care for these precious girls.
